2Lines iPhone app privacy
Your photos.
Your privacy.
Effective 27 September 2026; last updated . Published by the developer of Pregnancy Test Checker 2Lines.
Which version does this cover? This policy describes local app features and the data handling for the upcoming AI and optional human-review release. At initial publication on 27 September 2026, those protected online features were not enabled for general production use. Their sections apply when the feature is made available to you and you choose to use it. Publishing this policy does not make those features available in an older installed version.
2Lines provides visual assistance with test photographs. It does not diagnose or confirm pregnancy. Read the in-app disclosure before sending a photo, and keep unrelated people, documents and identifying details out of the image. Browsing our guides is covered by the separate website privacy notice.
Information kept on your iPhone
Captured or selected photos, saved results, edited views, optional notes and incomplete check drafts are stored in the app’s local files and database. You can delete saved checks in the app. Copies you choose to save to Apple Photos are separate and must be managed in Photos. Local storage does not mean that a photo stays on the device when you choose an online feature described below.
AI photo analysis, when available
AI analysis sends your test photo and selected derived views through Cloudflare to OpenAI to assess visible line signals. The request also includes technical information such as a request identifier, language and processing versions. Notes and onboarding answers are not included in the AI request. Product instructions and reading-time information are not supplied as separate inputs; anything visible inside your photograph is still part of the image you send. The accepted result and original photo are saved in local history.
The request disables OpenAI response storage. Under OpenAI’s API data controls, API content is not used for model training by default unless an organization opts in. Default abuse-monitoring retention can include content for up to 30 days, with longer retention possible for legal or safety reasons. Image safety review and some service features have additional retention rules. Disabling response storage is not a promise of zero provider retention.
Optional human photo review, when available
After your in-app consent, the selected photo is uploaded to private storage for an authorized reviewer. The review request includes your language, country inferred from the network request, chosen reviewer and optional controlled answer about your hoped-for result. The reviewer can access the photo and review context to prepare an English-language report, which may include annotations and audio. Review status, consent version, timestamps, reports and related operational records are associated with your app installation.
You may provide and verify an email address for verification and delivery updates. If you enable push updates, an Expo push token is registered. Email and push are optional; report access remains protected by your installation. Notifications identify a review-status update but do not contain your result or report. They may still reveal that you use a photo-review service to someone who can see your notifications.
Installation, security and purchases
You do not need to create a conventional account. Protected online features use an installation identifier, credentials and Apple App Attest information to authenticate requests and prevent abuse. The service processes network information, security proofs, request timestamps, status and operational identifiers. Reports cannot be recovered just by supplying an email address; losing or replacing an installation’s credentials can prevent access.
Apple handles App Store payment transactions. RevenueCat processes purchase identifiers, entitlement and subscription information so the app can provide purchased access. Photos, notes and analysis findings are not sent to RevenueCat by the app. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage subscriptions in your Apple account.
Product analytics and diagnostics
Production builds use Mixpanel with a pseudonymous device identifier to understand app use and improve feature flows. Information can include app version, platform, locale, camera or library source, feature actions, purchase-flow information, line-review result labels, check counts and the latest result label. Controlled onboarding answers about your observation and desired result can also be sent. These labels and answers can be sensitive even though they are not clinical diagnoses. We do not attach your name, email address, photo or notes to these analytics events.
Sentry receives technical diagnostics, including error, device and app context. Default personal-information collection is disabled in its configuration. Photos and report text are not intentionally attached as diagnostic payloads. Operational service logging uses request and route identifiers, status, timing and error categories. Pseudonymous analytics and technical records should not be understood as completely anonymous data.
Retention and deletion
- Local photos and notes: remain in app history until you delete them. Separately saved Photos copies are outside the app’s history controls.
- Uploaded AI images: become eligible for scheduled deletion after 24 hours. Uploaded human-review and retake photos become eligible after 30 days. Cleanup runs periodically, so these are scheduled retention periods, not exact deletion-time guarantees.
- AI operation records: completed, failed or reconciliation records are scheduled for cleanup after 30 days. This is separate from image storage.
- Review reports: remain until deleted; review records are also scheduled for removal after the installation has been inactive for 365 days. This does not automatically delete the entire installation or all contact, security or provider records. Report audio and annotation files are not covered by the automatic uploaded-photo cleanup; use the server-data deletion control to remove these files.
- Server-data deletion: where available, use the app’s Settings control to delete server data. It deletes installation-owned review media, reports, contacts, push registrations and associated service data, and revokes access credentials. A deleted-installation marker and security/audit records may remain. Deleting local history alone does not perform this server deletion.
- Third-party records: the app’s deletion controls do not erase Apple transaction records, OpenAI abuse-monitoring records, or all Mixpanel, Sentry and other provider records. Provider retention depends on the service and configured controls. Contact us for a request covering information beyond the in-app controls.
Service providers and international processing
Providers used by the relevant features include Cloudflare (hosting, security and private media), OpenAI (AI processing), Apple and RevenueCat (purchases), Brevo (email), Expo (push), Mixpanel (analytics) and Sentry (diagnostics). Internal operational alerts may use Slack with a shortened job identifier and status; they do not include the photo or report. Information may be processed outside your country. Provider handling is subject to their applicable terms and controls; this notice does not promise processing only in your country.
Permissions and choices
Camera and photo-library permissions support capturing, choosing and saving images. Users are not asked for microphone access. You can change permissions and notification settings in iOS Settings. Declining an online feature avoids its photo upload; it may also mean that feature cannot provide a result. The app does not currently ask users to confirm a minimum age and is not designed for children.
Questions, access and deletion requests
Use our support inquiry form for privacy questions or requests about access, correction or deletion. Tell us your app version and the type of request; do not include a test photo or medical details. We may need information sufficient to verify that the relevant records belong to you. Rights and available remedies depend on your location.
Updates and earlier disclosures
This notice replaces earlier general statements that the app uses no analytics or that photos can never leave the device. Older App Store descriptions or an earlier policy link may remain visible during the release transition; check this page and the disclosures in your installed version before sharing. Changes will be dated here. Publishing this notice does not change the behavior of software already installed on your phone.
